Okay, just received an email from Namecheap! They are going to be giving away $17,000 worth of domains and domain transfers starting December 1st to December 25th. Easy to enter and win!
Rules are simple! Just follow Namecheap on Twitter!
We’ve decided we can use Twitter to better keep up with our clients. To kick off our presence on Twitter, we are giving away $17,000 worth of domain and domain transfers in our “The Great NameCheap Twitter Trivia Contest“. We will be posting a holiday trivia question every hour on the hour starting 1st Dec 08 till 25th Dec on Twitter. The first three to reply to @namecheap with the correct answer will get a $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account. This can be used for domains, domain transfers, or could even be accumulated for web hosting or SSL renewals.
Here’s an example:
1) NameCheap will send out a message that says, “What jolly man gives toys to boys and girls for Christmas?”
2) You can then send a message that says “@namecheap Santa Claus”.
The @ symbol puts it to our attention. If you are one of the first three to answer correctly, we will send $9.69 credit for a new domain or renewal directly into your NameCheap account.
1. Login to your Namecheap account.
2. After you login, go to “My Account” > “Manage Profile” and then choose “Twitter Integration” link on the left.
3. Enter your Twitter username and click “Start Verification”. If you don’t have a twitter account, just signup.
4. A short code will be sent from NameCheap to your Twitter account using a direct message (a message that no one else other than you could see). Note: Unless you first follow NameCheap on Twitter, we will not be able to send you that code.
5. Enter the code on the NameCheap confirmation page and you are all set with linking the accounts.
What is the only rule?
To avoid having only a few people participate who game the contest, each contestant can win only one domain per day. (But, there is an incentive to keep participating, read more :))
Keep playing for the iPod nano!
You can’t wrap up a domain name and give it to someone else for the holidays. That’s why NameCheap is offering 3 iPods to the people who answer the most questions correctly. This does not require you to be one of the first to answer and you can answer as many questions every day in order to add to your tally of correct answers. We will post these winners in our blog after the contest is over. Be sure to keep playing until the 25 days are over and answering as much as you can for your chance to get your hand on an iPod nano.

Free .Biz Domain Names

Just found out that 1&1 is giving away FREE .biz domain names! Yes, you read that right, free .biz domains and only at 1&1.
There is a limit though of 25 domains! 1&1 will allow you to register up to 25 .biz domains for FREE!!! Man, you have to take advantage of this one. Even though that will probably cheapen the .biz domains to the level of .info domains, making them also know as the domain tld of choice for scammers and spammers.
1&1 is one of the top registrars of domain names, with over 4.5 million domains registered already. Am sure with this free promotion, that number will go up. Hey, maybe it is their way of going ahead of the number one registrar, godaddy.
Anyways, go to 1&1 soon, get your free .biz domains before others grab those hot words you want. Oh, and this promotion is going to end October 31st.
